The limited-edition Fears Garrick Salmon for Collective Horology is a great combination of elegance and technical tour de force. The charming design by Fears goes very well with Garrick's modest but impressive level of finishing. The collaborators will make only five examples of this watch, and I'm sure they'll sell out very quickly, especially since the US link is such a large market.Upon opening the parcel, I got a good feeling about the straps, but I knew I wanted to take a few weeks of wearing one of these straps to see how it held up with continuous wear. The use of a view of the Northern Hemisphere as the basis for a world time indication isn't a new one, but Arnold & Son's version is especially striking. The hemisphere is engraved and different topographic features receive different finishes, If you choose to order yourself an Ingenieur Chronograph, the watch is built just for you and takes 12 weeks to complete. The dial link is a cool grey with a Clous de Paris pattern, snailed subdials, and a 4:30 date window. It seems the tone-on-tone grey dial is becoming the link go-to choice for brands releasing titanium chronographs – Zenith opted for the same with its titanium link Chronomaster Sport, introduced earlier this year. If it's becoming a bit of a cliche – "a cool grey dial to match the modern performance of the titanium case" – it's only because the combo seems to work.
