        Bankruptcy can screw you up for some time, i would try to work a deal out with the companies you owe.. There's several debt consolidators you can call. Try your best to keep your credit in good standing, claiming bankrupt will always be on your record.

          Using these still work against you and will lower your credit rating a lot. Bankruptcy stays on your record for 7 years, then you can contact the 3 credit bureaus and have it removed. (USA)
