If you have a SIM card, you can go to your contacts lists options\settings and sync you contact list with the SIM card. This way whenever you'll change your phone, you can use the same SIM card and import your contact from it to your new phone.

Also, if you have android system on your phone, you can sync all of your contacts with google (gmail). If you have an iphone, you can sync your contacts with itunes (if you set it up). If you have blackberry, you can sync your cpntacts with an outlook account.
