    Are you in the USA-- Does this elderly person have Social Security? A retirement package? If you're looking for a government handout, I don't think so.. However, if you are supporting this person, you should be able to claim as a elder dependent.
    Actually, I've known several people that has taken care of a needy elderly person and received pymt. from the States Dept. Social Services. You'd need to contact them an find out their requirements. It helps keep them out of nursing homes and gives them companionship.
