    how do you determine the rpm on a electric motor?

    i need to change a pulley to reduce the rpm but how do i determine
    what the actual rpm currently is?

    It should be on the motor somewhere, check this site for info.:

    The two main factors are the frequency and the number of poles of the motor. A formula for RPM is HZ x 60 x 2/ number of poles the motor has.
    Or you can just call the manufacturer and get the info. from them.
