    what is the main disadvantage with kinco nuts and olives

    Kinko nuts and olives allow you to cut and join copper pipe without the need to solder the joins. They are used in conjunction with brass nipples as a compression fitting. The nut is screwed onto the nipple which compresses the olive and this forms a water tight seal on the pipe.
    I guess the main disadvantage would not compressing the olive enough and slipping out.
    I looked this up and saw the kinko nuts were metal, but I figured it was some sort of recipe because of the olives...lol
