When I was about age 14 or 15, a girl in my neighborhood was, as the adults used to say, "going wild". She and I were not close friends but would sometimes spend time together. My mother did not approve saying, be careful about hanging around with her. People will think you are the same. Then would come her common expression, "You know, birds of a feather flock together". I didn't fully understand what she meant then but certainly grasped it later in life through observation. It does seem very true!
