Bought some "soured cream" today, expiry date 15\07\16..................

Will it get better if I keep it longer?

    ....opinion: don't take any chances.

Sour cream is different than soured cream. I buy sour cream for making dips, casseroles, baked potatoes, some dessert recipes.

Soured cream would be cream far past its "best by" date, or left on the counter when the temperature reached 108. I'd throw that away!

Obviously, I'm confused by your question, but can't seem to stop typing.

108 degrees ,would be hot,We would have to take all our clothers off even to eat it,,

We'll go to my friend's for the 4th of July. We can dive into the potato salad.

Same stuff as yours I'm told Phyllis, just worded differently.

Thank you! Your soured cream will get moldy when it's past its prime. Toss it when you see mold.

Should be used before then, my question was a bit tongue in cheek but it seems to have blown over everyones head.

I got it, but just ran the other way. All this confusion with barking trees and politics is wearing me down.

its rotten old cream Ted throw it away, and buy some new stuff,,

Why dont you buy it fresh Ted,it would taste better,,??

According to what i have found here and my wife,,it is the same as "sour" cream,,so it should last to the expiry date,,do you have "best before" and "use by" dates,,or just an expiry date..??????..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..http://forum.lowcarber.org/archive/index.php/t-104629.html

It shouldn’t last you another 11 days. It should be gone by then. But I get your logic and I’d say go ahead and eat after the exp date. I knew a man who kept his whole milk in the cabinet and used it past it’s curdling and he’s still alive!

I think you should save it until December. It would make great frosting for your Christmas cake. Yum!

Personally I wouldn't keep anything or anybody past their use by date. It all gets a bit smelly.

Dave, I copy pasted your answer which I know you meant as a comment and moved it here for you.

I would think it's a bit like cheese, the longer you keep it the stronger it gets, it never seems to really go off.
