Not sure if that's from poor choices or misfortune. You've likely learned something, so it's not exactly square one. If you aren't clean and sober, expect the same scenario to reoccur. If you are, though, put away the cardboard and Sharpie, and get to the social services department, get a caseworker to coordinate for you.

But you have the cash to pay the bill, in the long run the internet isn't free. So he had the phone before he became homeless. Believe me, he would have sold it for food....
