I think you need to know the world population and calculate 4.5% of that.
I also think you need to know what 100% of the GDP is, then calculate 24% of that.
In addition, it should be noted that not 100% of the 4.5% actually produces 24% of the GDP. You need to isolate the percentage of the 4.5% who actually contribute to the GDP and figure out what percentage of the world's population THEY constitute.
AND, I think you are trying to compare apples and zebras.
