      I had a friend and work mate who died of Mesothelioma,  it's caused by a small fragment of asbestos,  which gets lodged in either the lungs as his did , or the stomach.  He lived 4 months from the diagnosis.  We worked together for many years laying vinyl asbestos floor tiles. We also spent a lot of time lifting the  and replacing them with pvc tiles and sheet flooring. I think it was the lifting and breaking them up which caused his problem. His wife got £5000 compensation after his death.

        Oh, yes. Asbestos is linked to a number of lung problems the least of which is not cancer....

          Someone I know is dying of asbestosis. He will leave a wife and two children at age 53.
