It’s quite the feast in America today. What are YOU eating?

The traditional. Turkey and dressing, green beans (yuck), mashed, and fruit salad. Pie for desert (this from someone who doesn’t even eat pie…….)

At Sons house this year will be 2 turkey breasts (they hate dark meat), stuffing, gravy, side vegetables, scallops/bacon, clams casino, cheese tray, desserts and booze.  Oh and football (the real kind).  Happy T-day to all.  We are thankful for another year of good health for everyone!

    Hic!!

Cooking turkey breast and fresh cranberry sauce, all else is purchased preped food dishes produced by at great local deli and shipped in from San Francisco, New York, and globally. It is amazing how many different countries come together into this meal.

All of this was available, not necessarily consumed:

    TURKEY, with stuffing
    HAM, with pineapple rings
POTATO SALAD, AMBROSIA SALAD, PASTA SALAD
    CORN CASSEROLE,  GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE,
RICH WITH PEAS, MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY
    ROLLS
    HOME-MADE HORCHATA, BEER, SODA
PUMPKIN PIE, APPLE PIE, PEACH PIE
PUMPKIN CAKE, PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE, CRAN-APPLE CAKE
    ALMOND TORTE, PRETZEL BOTTOM JELLO

I was very happy my only living aunt visited for a little bit, along with her daughter (one of my favorite people).  My eldest son and his daughter hosted the meal.  I was very sad my other two sons weren't there, which meant my littlest grandchild was also absent.

Think of what you had instead of what you didn't have.
.... It's a trick that works wonders for me :)

I had a wonderful day, FISH-O. If I let the disappointments get to me, it would be overwhelming at times. I'm so grateful for the remarkable change in my eldest from just a year ago!
Just gotta have faith "things" will work out for the best.

Faith and the lack of expectations. Perfect combination.
