They did.
Obama has made several advances during his presidency, healthcare, got most troops out of Middle East, improved immigration policies, but now any further advances will be thwarted by the truculent Republican faction in Congress. No doubt a previous moderator of this board will be delighted, but I think it is a backward move that people will come to regret.

Neither party is without problems, but I am glad Obama will have some restraints on whatever other graves he'd planned on digging for us. If you don't live in the USA and aren't subject to the debacle of a government that has been run by BOTH parties over the past too-many years (Clinton included), you really DON'T know what's going on here. WE live it on a daily basis, and you'll find as many opinions as you find members on this forum to chime their own melody on this topic.

In my humble opinion, the republican agenda is to gain power over our government by twisting every possible hint of truth about Democrats and their utterances into glorious lies that can be distorted and delivered back to the public as an inditement opposing Democrats. This, to rally their flocks of followers who are deafened by their twisted tales about Democrats in office, to join them in bringing down democratic control.

politics in any mans country is the same,,lawyers, lies, thieves, cheats, moral deviants, corrupt, much the same as a lot of the public that vote for them,,and with that sort of thought in mind,,all we can do is vote for the best of a bad bunch..no matter what country you come from..as long as you come from a country that lets you vote....
