No matter how big a "star" you are, I believe nerves play a big part on these occasions, I know for a fact I wouldn't or couldn't do it.

He's not the first to be unfamiliar with his own National Anthem. I would think that being asked to do it, would mean a lot of practise or at least writing the words on a card. He did apologize though. Some don't.

I’m not sure I know the words, here, let me try. Hang a moment…..Got them all but I couldn’t sing it w/o thinking about it. As far as the celebrity goes, they should practice, practice, practice. It’s a hard song to sing anyhow………...

My singing skills have faded and crumpled to a dusty ruin. Lacking the capacity to do any better I just smile and hope for the best.

They don't practice it enough. And maybe they haven't prepared their body and mind for the big event by getting enough sleep and not drinking .........and eating a balanced diet. Or maybe they're over confidant and think this is going to be a piece of cake.

Why did they have Rosanne sing it that time ? She was irreverent and told everybody ,"Well they know I'm not a singer " And she grabbed her crotch after singing the nat . anthem
