What is your favorite home made dessert that you prepare?

I like to make Peaches on the grill, when they are fresh and local, they are the best.  I cut, pit, and cover the sliced side with olive oil, then grill.  Flip them to finish cooking, then in bowl, and fill cavity with ice cream when hot!  (you may drizzle your favorite booze on them also).  Alternative, put brown sugar in when grilling the bottom, and eliminate, or not the ice cream...

Delicious and it has so many slight variations. It's been around for a long time.

Is that a reference to my age, madam?

Perhaps but since I have 10 years on you, I would have to say "our age" madam. lol

We were the lucky ones. My kids never got to enjoy Apple crisp but for the few times I made it. I may have to make it for my grandchildren and let my sons have a taste.

Not for me...never...a whole day out of my life. :(
    Bob/PKB

I don't buy cow's milk anymore, but do eat yogurt and/or ice cream. If someone makes ice cream from almond milk, let me know (it probably costs three times what ice cream costs).

When products are required due to health issues, we can be sure of inflated prices. :(

                    Vanilla Wafer Cake

    https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQE6H4XUwbAY92oo4wQ3Jr--7tpigTelhwW9QTEuyCs_Ihtk4Lh

    My moms recipe:

    2 sticks butter

    1 tsp vanilla

    1/2 cup walnuts or pecans

    2 cups sugar

    6 eggs

    1 1/2 cups shredded coconut

1 box Vanilla Wafer cookies crushed

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, stirring after each one. Add all other ingredients. Bake 1 hour in an ungreased parchment lined 9 x 13-inch pan at 275 degrees.

My mother never put frosting on this cake, but I think a coconut glazed frosting or a vanilla frosting would compliment it very well.

This sounds terrific! HaVing the flour from the cookies. .. My floor always had an old taste even when I open a fresh bag. Taste buds are on the Fritz.

I'm not in to licking floors myself. Perhaps you should mop the floor first. LMAO

Thanks. I will have to try this soon.

Let me know if you like it.

It would be a tossup between pretzel-bottomed jello and 7 layer bar cookies.

    Wow, they both look fantastic.
    Bob/PKB

The cookies take a couple minutes to prep. I use butterscotch and chocolate chips or mint and chocolate. ... or peanut butter and chocolate. Mine are in a 9x13, so sometimes I make it a half n half.

Home made kit kat ice cream

    Bob/PKB

Home made ice cream. I am the Cookie Monster of homemade ice cream!
    zorro

I spent the last year or two making home made icecream for high school concession stand. KitKat was the best and always sold out. Even on coldest winter days at basketball high school games. We made enough money in one year for the 10 graduating seniors to go to Hawaii for 10 days, with 1000 dollars each.Thats a lot of ice creamand hamburgers.
    Bob/PKB

That is incredible sales! Must have been some pretty good burgers and the ice cream sounds irresistible!
LUCKY "kids" to have you and the others who dedicated their time and effort.
    zorro

    Yes, very lucky.

    Brownies from scratch.
