More from itsmee: I let my question fly off before I completed it.

Anyway, I need to change dentists and my current dentist is too expensive. I would like to go to the dentist across the street but I don't have a reference.

Would you 1) Ask to speak to the dentist-an interview 2) Ask age, etc. when speaking to the secretary 3) Or would you just go and have trust because you don't want to seem too ... too something.

    Expensive if not good results

So true ... Dangerous too ... They work close to the brain.

One word of warning: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

That's what Zorro said also. I'm thinking, jharlan. : )

Had a friend go to a “cheap” dentist for an extraction when he could have gone to mine (a dental spa-not kidding) and he suffered for days. Go to my dentist and you sit in Italian leather chairs, get flavored nitrous, and receive foot and hand massages………You just pay a little more…...

flavored nitrous!! Oh wow! Thanks, Julie

Nomdeplume is a retired dentist. I'm sure he'll fix you up for free and even pay for your airfare to his Villa in France. You may have to renounce your religious beliefs but, hey, what a bargain !

No probs, just mail me a cheque for $500,000 and I will buy a practice and treat you free of charge.

I'm know I'm in the right place. Ha.

Go to the nearest University dental school. It's cheaper.  The students do a nice job and they have their supervisor watching and guiding them........who is a dentist.

~ ~ ~ that's what a lot of people around here do .They go to U of M  dental school, which is 20  miles from my town. It doesn't take long to get there.

I wouldn't allow a student to stick his fingers in ANY of my orifices !

My insurance pays the dentist pretty well. It's new and I didn't know.

another idea, itsmee......ask your neighbors and friends around there what they think of the dentist across the street. I'm sure you'll find someone who had been to him.

INobody even knows she's over there. The place is shrouded in trees. I have decided to stay with my current dentist. She got an excellent referral ... She takes care of the teeth of my internist and her kids.

Try Guys hospital in London ,and you might get it done free,

The trip from California would be way too long, good man, Hector.

Have it done on your holidays over here, itsmee,I might put you up bed and breafast,

Hector, you're a sweetie. Thank you.

    Hector's breakfasts are world famous.

Man cannot live on one meal a day. I still believe that nomdeplume should fly you in, feed you 3 squares a day and perform his world famous dentistry for gratis. All he needs is an old set of dental pliers that he surely still has laying around somewhere in his dresser.
    nomdeplume

OK, here's the deal: itsmee flies over, I do the work in my shed with woodworking tools, and Hector cooks the breakfast. He will have to share the kitchen with my wife, a fate far worse than death.
