It is icing up, and the chute which allows the cold air into the food storage section isn't getting satisfied, and that is where the thermostat is located, so it keeps running and freezing some more. Shut it off, and defrost and clean it up. Make sure the damper chute moves as it should, to divert the cold air down to the box. Store your food in coolers of ice as this is going on. It may take over night.
