I heard on our local radio this morning, that there have been 50% less children arrested in the past two years. Then they said it's because when they are caught shop lifting , instead of putting them through the stress and anxiety of being taken to court and punished for tgeccrime, they are taken back to the shop to return tge goods they have stolen, and apologize. Too much liberalism or what, poor little dears, no wonder they have no repect for law and order.

Oh dear spell check didn't work. It's punished for the crime. And return the goods they have stolen.

I worked retail while in high school (late 50's) and that is exactly what they did to kids who shoplifted. The difference then, was that the kids (and their parents who had to come with them) were so embarrassed and scared that they rarely shoplifted again. With so many kids now, it would be nothing more than a big joke and of course, the parents wouldn't have time to be involved. I don't think this kind of punishment works in todays' society.

This my mother would have done first off and then kill me when we got home……...
