    In the famous sci-fi movie Contact, Jodie Foster’s character, Dr. Ellie Arroway calls mathematics “the only universal language”.

    Bah Humbug. 

    I don't know who said it but you can bet that communication with alien lifeform will probably be math of some sort.  Math is a language and no matter where you go, 1+1 will always = 2.
