How is a rating calculated on a question? e.g. "Rating: 5" What does it mean?

It does seem sometimes the TUs don't add up to the rating; this formula is supposed to work for answers, too.

It means that it has been given a thumbs up 5 times. Questions can be TU'd just like answers can be.

Look at a question that someone else has asked. In the blue section where the question asked, see "Answer this", under that tag, see the small TU/TD symbols. You can not see them on a question you asked but you can see them on a question another person has asked.
