Scabies is a terrible skin condition that can affect anyone of any age. They are a tiny mite scientifically called Sarcoptes scabiei. They are so small that they are quite hard to see with the naked eye. They are attracted to the body because of the heat. They burrow under the skin of a human and lay their eggs and this is what causes scabies to spread on the body.

They prefer areas such as the hands and feet to start an infestation. Basically what causes scabies is coming into direct contact with someone who has the skin condition. Scabies are highly contagious and are spread simply by touching someone who has become infected or even by wearing something belonging to someone who has the skin condition. The scabies mite can live in the clothes and the bedding of the infected person for up to four days before they eventually starve to death. They can even be spread to other parts of the body of a scabies suffer by touching unaffected parts of the body with an infected part.
