    Settle an argument. Can bacteria live in lava?

    There are types of bacteria that live in lava called Archae Bacteria. They survive by feeding on carbon components present in lava. However, bacteria cannot survive on hot lava since the hit temperature obliterates them.

    I read that, it’s a catch 22 sort of thing. Either they live or don’t live……

    They live off carbon components present in lava but they feed off the edges, the cooled parts, they do not immerse themselves into the lava.

    It doesn't seem possible for anything not to be cremated in lava.
