Not blind FAITH but educated FAITH, study, read, search the web ask questions and find a good Bible teaching church. Thats not as easy as it sounds, if you go to over one service and the pastor or priest does not refer to the Scriptures get up and find another church.

Your talking about the Koran not the bible it teaches love.

A good Bible teaching church. So what you are telling us is that as long as the preacher refers to the scriptures, then that is the definition of a "Good Bible teaching church?" So if a preacher refers to any Bible scripture, and then tells you to do something based on that scripture, like killing anyone who is a non-believer because that is a just war, then that's the definition of a good bible teaching church. Hmm, don't think so.

I agree with Randy, that you should research what you hear from the pulpit. I don't think you are doing your job as a Christian just to accept what you hear as absolutely correct. What do the Bible Scholars say about the verse, what is the Greek or Hebrew meaning?

Part of the problem among Christians being mislead is that they take a Pastors word for the truth, just because someone is a pastor or preacher, that doesn't make them right. If we aren't diligent on our studies, how can we defend our faith. If you just sit there and warm a pew and don't get involved, what's the point? If you're not helping the community or volunteering for something, what are you doing? The fruits of the Spirit should be seen in your life by others. Galatians 5:22 I believe is where they are listed.

Why do you think so many people join cults? Could be they just take peoples word as truth, we should be smarter than that and do our research.

t.u. good verse, it pays to do your research, many people don't understand how much reading and studying that many Christian people practice. Part of the problem is that many Christians don't study.

If you want to be able to have the answers people are looking for, you have to know where they are.

I have to ask if each time we take a breath is that not a form of blind faith. You can not see the air we breath but yet you take a breath. In another sense a blind man takes a step with faith the ground will meet his foot. You can agree to disagree but I have blind faith in God. I can't see Him but I know He is there...everywhere.Love and Light to all...and I take no offence if you don't agree;)

    Good analogy mom! TU

Thank FOG...you are a good person

    I meant thanks...lol Spelling, sheesh

Not blind faith in people, even those posed as authorities. One can always trust to a point, but verify. I think Reagan said that. Even the bible tells us to "search the scriptures" to see if what we are being taught is from God. It also says to "test the spirits" since the bad ones have thousands of years of experience in deceit, and can easily delude anyone of us, including through the bible. So even God doesn't promote blind faith.

However, once God has revealed Himself to you as Jesus, then you can accept Him as True through experiential faith.

Sorry, but I've thought long and hard about religion and rejected it completely. This wasn't a easy decision and I agonised about for quite some time. So, in my opinion, anyone that has blind faith in anything is a fool.

Absolutely not, search, seek, ask, knock, ponder find the meaning of Life/God within. Solve their mysteries within yourself and know the Truth. Take nothing literal in any of the scriptures, or you are in danger of falling into the tar ditch, the pit of fundamentalism and the quicksand of dogmatism. Though the Scriptures are such guides, their truths are metaphoric. To interpret literally is to violate the Truth they contain. Blind Faith as the fundamentalists present it, begets slaves to that which they know not; ignorant terrorists. Such professors are but the blind leading the blind and if the blind shall lead the blind both shall fall into the ditch. Seek the divinity within, know your True Self. God will bless you with Understanding. May the Good ever guide your journey inward. ;)

Gabalis, I absolutely love this. I can respect the fact that someone may live their life by the bible but when they take it so literally it's all they speak of I can't help but tune them out. I can't, nor would I, look down upon someone trying to make their life the absolute best it can be but a lot of the times when someone starts preaching and reciting endless scripture, it feels like they're just copying and pasting their words over and over without seeing the meaning. T.U for a great answer :)

Ashligh. . . and this shall be the Light of this blessed Aquarian Age now come upon us.. ;-) Amen

Take a chair for example, I have enough knowledge and evidence to trust that when I lay hold of it I can sit down on it without it breaking apart. I don't blindly believe that a chair will hold me, I have evidence through experience that i can trust it.

Now a chair i can see, Jesus I cannot, but I have enough evidence through scripture and experience to know that my faith is in the truth.

I would not want to trust in a blind faith. Faith should be placed in overwhelming evidence. One should consider the bible and evaluate what it has to say in regards to life and death. Search the scrptures to find fault in prophecies and historical events.

    Good answer

I believe in dumb luck more than blind faith. Some people just don't get hurt doing stupid things. Is that because God stepped in to protect him or just dumb luck or a miracle?

    @bluedeath - good point. TU!!!

I do believe in blind faith as I have experienced the results of such time and time again over a period of 56 years.

@PEOPLELOVER - Do You Believe In Blind Faith...it is rather simple...really....this isn't confusing at all....very easy to understand.

Everyone else seems to understand, why not you? They gave their response according to how they felt about the question.

    PEOPLELOVER

Yes I do believe in blind faith but I don`t practise it. As far as Yes or No reflecting nothing those two words carry a lot of power in a court of law so to say they reflect nothing merely shows the understanding or lack there of, of the words by the person so stating. I repeat where in the question are we asked to justify our answer? Your comment "everyone else understands it why not you?" I find offensive as you are commenting on the replies of six or seven like minded people. One can hardly call that "everyone else" would you not agree? Ask 10 vegans do you eat meat? is that "EVERYONE"

Yes, I believe in God, and my faith in him is not blind. But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I am not about to pick on anyone but can someone tell me what the heck all the answers have to do with "blind faith" have you got it? A simple YES or No would suffice. The question does not include "Justify your answer" Maybe some are so unsure they have to Hmmm.

    Gabalis

there would be no need for such questions, if people wern't interested. Yes or No reflects nothing but speaking without a thought. These things are asked to stimulate higher thought in the seeking. You answer is but judgement on something, that means nothing to you.

P.S. . . .The Hummm. . . PL, is the thoughtful part. . . not always, but most often, the concern for the ignorant. How to open their eye and ears, thus their open minds and hearts to the Spirit in the words, they spout so brazenly; words they do not understand. For such lost ones have eyes but cannot see and ears but cannot hear what the Spirit sayeth . . . nor do they understand Godly intent. . . it is hard to penetrate that thick dark wall of dogmatic programming, fed to them down through the ages like mothers milk! Sadly they believe in blindness and slavery. Hummmm. . . indeed in this case, is for such as yourself PH and your like. WAKE UP! ;)
    PEOPLELOVER

No one has explained it that way before, thank you and for my "spirit" I will have a double of single malt Scotch Whiskey. Cheers.
