How's your weather.

We're sweltering here & very smoky due to the bushfires raging across Stradbroke Island.(Which is only a few miles from us.) We're in no danger.There is a couple of miles of ocean between us & the fires.

I have seen on the news how North America is the exact opposite.Hope all are safe & warm.

There is something definately wrong when Cyclone Christine reached Adelaide and beyond, normally they peter out after they reach land.

It is wierd, Tom, we had a liitle wind and rain north of Aelaide, the south was hit pretty hard, the normal things, uprooted trees, lost tiles off roofs, Etc., just a 50k difference., you look after youself and family as i believe the fire warning is Catastrophic in Qld.

Tommyh - wow 42 C. - 50 C - Amazing so hot and all those bushfires - Oh my - just like the Arabian Desert. Here in London - pretty awful but other places have it worse as is said no power. We have had fences falling down - but I haven't been out for about two weeks. Hope you are well Tommyh.

Aww heck, you're having a heat wave clu. We're going down to 9 degree and that's before the wind chill.

Just heard, wind chill will make the temp feel like 20-25 degrees below zero.

clu - not so bad as others are saying - depends how the cold is - I lived in Sweden for a year and the temperatures were sometimes below 20C and under but didn't feel as cold as it would feel here as it is a drier cold - here it is damp and gets through to the bones.

Michigan and nearby states are gettin' hit with a cold front from the North...just s.e. of us is gonna' be hit even worse...Wish I was in Florida for the winter months! I, for one, DO NOT enjoy the cold...shoveling snow...cleaning off the car daily...wasting gas warming it up...utility bills...etc...

Yes, we have winter storm Hercules on his way. It's been snowing for almost 12 hours now and Hercules hasn't even hit yet. I'm going out tomorrow but I have 4 wheel drive so I'll be fine.

Below zero here everyday for more than two weeks and snow just about everyday! This has been an exceptionally early, exceptionally cold winter so far with more snow than normal too. Brrrrrrrr......

Changing suddenly, since I wrote this answer, we have a storm ,rain ,wind, and the powers been off for 2 hours, just came back on.But we have been luckier than most people.

G'day Tom, S.A. is suffering from a difference in temp. --- Adelaide 23c further north pushing 50c - Don't get smoke inhalation and they say there is no global warming-- on the news S.A. had the hottest year on record in Australia for 2013 -- good luck Mate.
