I just cut the broken zipper lengthwise along the in-seam on both sides and use fabric glue to add a new zipper into the garment. Last time I did that was to replace the zipper in a warm leather jacket that had the zipper broken out beyond repair. Be sure ti get a replacement zipper that new, but the same color and length. Don’t cheapen up on the replacement either. If It is worth doing, do it to your satisfaction or get a reliable sewing crafter to do it for a price.
