      Don't use it.It's been snakebit.The bearing has worn out I would say or there could be a button caught up in it.Either way it will need to be partly dismantled.So if you are not a handy person,call a technicion.

        I have repaired both washers and dryers over the years, look in the manual and see if there is a phone number to speak with a technician.  If so, they will diagnose the problem and actually wait on the phone and walk you through the repairs.  (Whirlpool brand)  The newer machines will probably not be able to have you repair them, as they are full of computer electronics.
