Right off the bat I’d say it was something you ate. Take an antihistamine and see if that doesn’t fix that……...

Quite often, numbness is caused by a lack of circulation. My fingers get numb if I sleep in the wrong positions, my foot "falls asleep", etc. etc. etc.
The only time MY lips ever got numb was when I was pregnant and diabetic. I had given myself my pre-meal insulin shot and needed to wait 45 minutes before eating. About 20 minutes into the wait (plenty of time to prepare the meal), my lips went numb. My blood sugar had dropped to 45. Some orange juice and a graham cracker took care of the problem.
Just a thought.

Sure sure. I won't worry. I'll just wash all the linens and covers and breathe deeply. That's what we do when we suspect a bug in bed with us. Yikes! Eeeeeeeek.
Didn't this happen to you before and you discovered you fell asleep ON your computer??

Yep, I will see the doctor if it doesn't get better real soon.
spider bite to freak me out .... Oh I might as well.... kik.
Could be your blood pressure. Do you have anyway to check it right now? a BP cuff or machine? When mine goes sky high...my lips get tingly.

diabetes can sometimes cause numbness in various parts of your body . Sometimes nerves can cause you mouth and jaw to feel numb. It did me for years.off and on .....untill I was over 40.! Sometimes ( I don't want to scare you,) but a little stroke can cause numbness somewhere around the mouth. But, if it was that, you'd prob have it only on one side.It could be the beginning of Bell's Palsy, but there again, you'd prob have it only on one side. If you're a diabetic, my guess is that it's neuropathy. Does it tingle too ?
If it doesn't clear up in 12 hours, see a Dr.

THANK YOU.
First mistake, asking strangers to help with what could be a serious sign of medical problems. You should see a doctor. We are not doctors we can only speculate on our own personal experiences, your situation may be different.
That said, I 'speculate' that you have accidentally injured a nerve in your lip, this would cause numbness, but usually when a person injures a nerve the numbness is preceded by a tingling sensation. As the nerve recovers, the numbness returns to tingling again then back to normal. <<Speculation>>> If it continues for a couple days I would get to a 'real' doctor.

I know you all well and wouldn't believe a thing anyone said anyway. : )
(Except for Colleen's response when she said, "Don't worry. It's just a spider bite) I DID believe that one for about 15 hair-raising seconds.
I have a scratch on my face. Your speculation could be right. Thank you.
