    How do I unfriend without being mean sounding?

    Can I just put someone on a shelf for later? I am getting advertising and junk messages from about a dozen people and it is annoying

      Just unfriend them. They do not get an alert. You can go to the defriend list later and remove them from it but you will have to send them a friend request again. You can edit type of content you see from them. Just click the small down arrow on the right side of their post and select from the options.
