Yes we have turkey.We also have chicken,duck,ham.Cold ham & seafood is more the Xmas tradition here now becuase of the climate.(HOT!). The prawns (That's schrimp to you) are delicious over here.In the old days a hot Xmas dinner was the tradition but things have changed.
Hahaha! No....we don't cook on Xmas day.You can buy everything ready cooked at the supermarkets.

As for scotch guard on the carpet, yes, it's worth the money. Just make sure they put a good coat on. It has helped here with the doggie accidents. ;)

We don't have doggie accidents, but we've had a few kiddie accidents and more than a few coffee accidents.
I wish I'd read this before they left but the computer wasn't working. It's going to the shop tomorrow. Sometimes it's ok ... sometimes not.
Nobody ever wears shoes in our house so our carpets stay fairly clean.

I prefer hardwood flooring. Carpet traps all sorts of dirt no matter how often you vacuum. It's healthier, too.

I too have planned to get rid of my old carpet and get my hard wood flooring refinished ....b/c the carpet is a high nap and has loops in it.And my cats have pulled the loops up and the cat hair gets crocheted down in there. The carpet was selected by the previous owner of my house.
Digger ... You are soooo right. I'll never have carpet again. It's kinda nice in the bedrooms in the winter. There's not much traffic in the bedrooms.
