    took and passed California state board testing on animal health technology in 1977. do records still exist.

      I doubt the certificate would even be valid now. You would need to keep up with all the changes concerning animal health technology. You probably would have been required to re-certify at some point.  These would be the people to start with for help in tracing your old certificate > http://www.dca.ca.gov/
