Open a new or existing PowerPoint presentation. Click on the "View" tab, then select "Normal" view.

Click the "Insert" tab, then click the "Video" down arrow in the "Media" group. Select the source of your video from the pop-up menu.

Click on "Video From File" to insert your own video clip from your computer.Click on "Clip Art Video" to select a video clip from the Microsoft Clip Art organizer. Click on "Video from Web Site" to insert a video clip from an online source.

Click on your video file to insert it into the slide.

Set the timing for playback by clicking on "Video Tools Playback" tab by clicking the "Video Options" group, then the "Start" down arrow. Click on "Automatically" to have the video start when the slide is displayed after the transition. Click "On Click" to manually start the movie at your mouse click command.

Preview your clip for quality and timing by clicking "Preview" on the "Preview" group. Click on the video box on your slide to move it to your desired spot. Click on a box handle then drag it to to enlarge the video window, or push the handle inward to reduce the size.
