You have 3 problems that I can think of. 1. You are putting a GM engine into an old Ford. You first would need to remake the motor mounts and make sure the engine will fit the cavity. 2, a 1950 does not have all the gauges and extras that a 1978 would have. What are you planning on doing with all the extra wiring? Then you would need a specially made wiring harness to wire a GM to a Ford. 3. What about the transmission? Are you planning on changing that too because you can not match a GM engine to a Ford tranny. Unless you actually know what you are doing and can remake the Ford (which will ruin it's value as a classic, do not attempt to do this on your own).
