When I was almost 17 my best boyfriend was decapitated by a drunk driver who sped through a red light. Micheal was on his way to work at 5 in the morning...he and his pride and joy Barracuda were both massacred by that drunken dude who fled on foot only to be tracked by dogs...he got 6 whole years behind bars and was out in two....Micheal never recovered...he was dead at the scene with his beautiful head with it's long dark hair laying out on some strangers lawn...I don't give a sh*t about drunks who choose to drive...they can all rot in hell as far as I'm concerned.

I totally agree. I've seen too many demolished lives right in my own community, because a drunk got behind the wheel. A friend's husband is a drunk driver...regularly. Makes me sick!

That's the thing...I've NEVER actually seen him. I've heard it from many people and told them the same thing...report him! He's never been caught though he has been doing it for several years. I just wait for the disaster to happen. :((

She is 44 years old and has demonstrated, 6 times, that she will not obey the law. There is no other option in my opinion and it should have happened sooner than that!  People know better than to drive drunk. They just choose to do whatever they want without any regard to the lives of others! I don't want her driving on the same roads where my family and friends are driving! Yes. Lock her up so no one dies because of her!

    Many of us do! LOL!!!

After 6 DUI's It is a miracle she has not killed someone.  Just how to keep these idiots from behind the wheel?? If it takes a life sentence then so be it! I watched a friend suffer the loss of his son who was sitting at a stop light while a drunk hit his vehicle doing 70 mph. This friend was devastated. His sons girlfriend was also killed!  Sorry I have NO sympathy for a 6 times drunk driver!  And thats only how many times she was caught.

    IOU TU…….

Some folk will not quit. That is why we have laws. Do the laws help? Only to keep some folk from getting behind the wheel of a car. That is why we have prisons. If nippin the end of a finger off would prevent a person from driving drunk the courts would do that. In Russia a compound was tried that if the person drank alcohol it would kill them....they died.

Yes I think she is best locked up, where she can not do any harm . She didn't learn a lesson the first 5 times.

A lengthy prison sentence sounds good to me. While I couldn't find the full article, six DUI arrests and convictions are more than enough. Read lindilou's answer, and add my cousin's death (while driving home from work one early morning), my friend and his GF (rear-ended while at a stoplight on his motorcycle) to the list.
While we are at it, anything this woman receives or inherits during her incarceration should be confiscated to pay for her "upkeep".

The consequences for drunk driving here are very pricey, but that doesn't stop some/most from continuing to drink and drive, even when licenses have been suspended or revoked.  Jail time is usually abbreviated due to overcrowding.

I don't know if we need more prisons and jails, or just fewer people.

Fewer DUMBA$$E$ would probably help, but they're everywhere and always will be until we invent warp 11 travel, then all the decent citizens can F...off to a better world.

One of my favorite "Peanuts" comic strips had Lucy squawking about the world having too many people. The world can't feed all these people. She rants for 3 panels. In the 4th, her little brother, Linus, who's been sitting with his blanket, thumb in his mouth, asks her, "Why don't you leave?"
    I love it.

    Seen it, good one!

Not unless she killed someone. I'm sure this will be appealed.

Don't worry about TU's for me. Just keep giving to the members who need them. A thank the author is enough ;)

edited because of the concern my above comment caused.

I do not care about the points. Just a thank you if you are out of TUs is fine. No IOU is needed.
    Bob/PKB

A thank the author also earns points.
    jhharlan

I’ve noticed that all my TU’s take care of the “thank you” as well…..
    Bob/PKB

Who needs a thumb's up? Can we redeem them for anything?
    jhharlan

Wasn’t it stated that they would amount to something given enough TU’s? Or was I dreaming?
    Bob/PKB

"Gaining Karma points also opens up doors to some cool features in akaQA which are constantly added."

I thought I remembered that. What has Romos gained I wonder…….

I enjoyed your last email. Will return the favor if I can think of anything to say…….
    Bob/PKB

I'll look forward to receiving it. Will be at Mom's today, with no access to internet.

A thank the author only earns points if the person clicking thank the author has TUs left to give and gave the "thank the author" option rather than the TU option. (@ Julie if you TU a person, then thanking them also does not give more points.) So if you're out of TU's to give, thanking the author will let the person know you thanked them but they do not get points. As for who needs them, there are members here who like them and have posted that they do like getting them and the points. I was speaking of them. Why are you even questioning this Bob? I was speaking to Julie and her telling me she does not owes me a TU. A thank you is fine. As for the "cool features", I've asked what those features will be and have received the reply, "we're working on it".
    jhharlan

But, but, but…. I’ve noticed that when I give a TU then thank you disappears also whether i click it on it or not. I tried just thanking you after I ran out of votes and it reappeared the next day. It didn’t take clicking on Thank The Author only…….

Because both a TU and a Thank the author can give points, when you use one, the other goes away. If you try and give a TU and get the message that you are out of TU's for the day, then use the thank the author option. The program should allow that option to be used even if you are out of TUs. It will send a message to the person that you thanked them but they do not get points for the thank you. I will message the developers and let them know the thank the author option may not be working correctly. They added that option specifically so that it could be used after a member used up all their TUs.

Thanks mcm but your bible quote has little to do with this conversion as far as I can tell. Did you post to the wrong comment?

    What took so long?
