Why is that plastic bottle tops are discouraged to recycle, after all,
inside the tops, it indicates # 1. I have saved thousands of them,
in anticipation of recycling them, instead o filling of land fill.

I recycle everything. Plastic bottle caps have many applications and I have a collection that is growing daily. I grind plastic to be moulded into other products. I cut plastic into a variety of shapes to serve applications as needed...like washers, standoffs, seals, sheet stock etc. The usefulness of materials like plastic especially is quite diverse. That I may need one of something I can make from a plastic bottle cap emphasises the desire to produce or adapt myself to fill that need. Otherwise I would have to go to a store and buy the thing costing me time, money, auto fuel and buy it at some insultingly gouging price as well. So I recycle everything I can carefully so I can find it when I need it.

My local supermarket accepts plastic bottle tops for recycling. The container they use is always overflowing.

recycle properly, please remember each bottle that goes into a regular trash receptacle is not
the right one, which amongst all the other bottles that are put in other trash receptacles
all go into the dump, recycling has the purpose
of avoiding it.
