it threads from front to back in the needle rather than left to right as others do. From the top of the machine put the cotton reel on stick draw thread to the back and then stretch across top of machine to catch into metal rise and fall bar hook, then pull to the back to go through the tension wire before winding round the tension dial at the front then bringing down to thread the needl, lower needle so you can thread easier. When thread keep thread to back, make sure your spool in the lower case has enough cotton through the catch to lay on the side of the machine, hold onto this thread and turn the machine by hand one full turn so that the lower thread is picked up as it connects with the upper thread.
