I am a lawn cutting maniac (only because some people will actually pay money for the service) and have found that when the grass is too high one must do two cuts...the first cut is leveled above the deepest cut line for a one cut...in other words you must trim the grass then do a final cut...it's time consuming because you must do two cuts of the same lawn however once this is done it is easier to stay on top of it...and easier on equipment. Hope this made sense. Peace
