When a vehicle runs out of gas it takes a lot of engine cranking to get the fuel back into the fuel lines. Sometimes it can wear the battery down just trying to get it started. If you have a fuel injected vehicle, it can take a while to get the fuel into the injectors.

I know...pump the gas pedal but don't flood the carb...fergot... :)
I am still in love with the cars of old...50s to late 70s...maybe to 82...too bad we have a fuel crisis.. ;(
We do not have a fuel crisis. That is the same lie fed to you as our government feeds to us. It's all about the money and keeping the cost of fuel high.
That may be...but I still want the ole gas guzzler cars...they were well thought out...I mean...my '69 eldorado was so roomy it had a freaking dance floor!! You can't dance in the back of a hyundai!! ;D (p.s. no wonder I,m so skinny...eating all that b.s. darn!)
right.the fuel crisis is a lie. Cars can run on natural gas , hydrogen, peanut oil, electriciy , and a host of other types of fuel.
