The Dog Hunter from Queensland, Australia

    http://www.vice.com/wild-things/the-dog-hunter

I'm watching AFV and they are featuring dog clips.  So hard to look at the Dog Hunter, and then watch "man's best friend" make me laugh and pet the dog resting at my feet.

Is Varney still on the hunt?

Caution, the video contains graphic scenes. If you do not like seeing animals killed, do not watch the video.

THIS IS CORRECT. THERE IS A WARNING BEFORE THE VIDEO BEGINS.

I'm heeding Colleen's advice and not watching the video, sorry.........

You did the right thing, Jules, it is quite gruesome.

I have to say, MsBob, this is the first of have heard of this, as far as i know the problem does not exist in any of the other states, Qld. will have to revise it's dog laws and make it manatory of non show dogs to be desexed whether a male or a female, the so called dog hunter 's approach to the problem is sickening, but then again killing and maiming of innocent animals for lust is as well, you certainly watch some gruesome videos, MsBob.

IOU TU, bulletman. I didn't sit through all of that, for sure. The guy was grinning with somebody on the passing news blurbs on my home screen (?), and I checked on it. Glad it is not something common in your land down under. :)

I have been to the township of Esk many times & I have to admit that I have never heard of this bloke.

I won't defend him but I do have to point out that feral dogs are a problem in our state.

I couldn't watch the whole video, not because it made me squeamish but my rusty old computer just couldn.t handle it.

IOU TU. Apparently the man was in prison at some point in time. You seem to have much more open and grazing land than around here. We could have similar problems in the US and I'm not aware of it. Foxes, wolves, and coyotes usually get the blame. It was hard looking at the sheep that were injured....not my cup of tea.

Esk is a quiet but trendy little township in the Brisbane (River) valley. The main industry is farming. We do have a lot of open grazing land.Remember we only have 22 million people in a country roughly the same size as the continental USA.The packs of wild dogs were at one stage moving closer & closer to the bigger communities such as Brisbane & Ipswich. They present a very real problem. Not just to livestock but to household pets, poultry & even children.

It makes a huge difference when you consider the land mass vs the population and the dangers presented by the packs. I think the fact that the packs are "dogs" will bother a lot of people.
