Why stay with people exploiting your friendship, only for others to see that you have friends

Some people are afraid or reluctant to be solitary or alone.  I have come to think of those people as being insecure, unhappy with themselves, lacking in self-esteem, or socially immature.

I'm not an authority, nor a particularly good example of anything, but I am able to take myself to a nice restaurant and enjoy a good meal, buy ONE ticket for a movie and enjoy the film, drive to the coast or mountains, or go shopping, walking, out to a sporting event, to the golf course or bowling alley, a casino....all by myself.  I suppose I developed the ability out of necessity.  :O

Those folks who are with "friends" who use them (exploit) aren't fooling anybody.   It doesn't take much to see through that kind of phony relationship.

Being afraid to go places alone, certainly is limiting to those who are single, so good for you! :)

Sometimes I feel conspicuous, but generally, so what; people aren't really paying attention to me in the first place. If I didn't go alone, I didn't go, so I had to get used to it. Still not my favorite thing to do, but who knows who you might meet!!!
