If I am not mistaken, the Kindle is a proprietary reader. Only reads amazon. I think there are better choices out there that reads Amazon as well as other publishers. This is just my opinion though. I looked at all of them, my wife has a Samsung Galaxy and loves it. (Android) JMO--
