    What is required to have the back of a hand-made quilt? Batting, and a soft material?

      I have quilt with no backing. I think it's persona preference and how heavy you want to make it. You will need a backing if you want to add batting.

        Batting, it's a thickish padded material, you can get it in different weights if you are making for babies you should use an appropriate weight
