margaret a - I am not sure about this - tried a search but all seem somewhat conflicting. However, is he hibernating? Can you feel him breathing? One person said on this search - take him to the vet. Sorry not much help. Country Bumpkin - I am sure knows but both torti have their eyes open is this right alive or dead? Now margaret a - do not laugh at me this is possible perhaps  - years ago I took my dog to the vet and there was a guy sitting there with a box - I aked him what was in it - he said my tortoise - I said what is wrong with him - he said the vet said he was depressed because he lost his friend - therefore maybe depression could make him listless.
