Have you heard about the 'Ag Gag' ? I read that in some states in the USA people who have taken video footage of cruelty to farm animals can be charged with a felony. The agriculture lobby has prevented any whistleblower action from people concerned with animal rights.

I've not heard of that. I'm trying to find any such case so I can ask my officials about it. I know here in the USA, it's due to the undercover videos that perpetrators of animals abuse are being arrested. Never heard of a whistle blower being brought up on federal charges. http://www.bing.com/search?q=in+the+USA%2C+people+taking+video+footage+of+cruelty+to+farm+animals+can+be+charged+with+a+felony.&go=&qs=n&form=QBRE&pq=in+the+usa%2C+people+taking+video+footage+of+cruelty+to+farm+animals+can+be+charged+with+a+felony.&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=

Let's not pick on the USA only. Abuse does happen here but there are agencies that fight it constantly. I am an animal rights activist and I sign petitions constantly and write my politicians. I see abuse all over the world. Abuse even worse than what happens here. Live dogs skinned, cats cooked while still alive, all this in other countries. Do not fixate on just one cause or country. It is everywhere. Even in the UK http://kulaprabha.net/?p=668

I've been involved in the fight to get tougher laws on animal abuse. These short prison stays that exist now are doing nothing to combat it. Any facility caught abusing animals should be shut down (and they have closed 2 of them recently) the owner fined heavily, like into the millions so the money can go towards the fight for animals rights and at least 5 years in prison and on up depending on the extent of the abuse and approx # of animals abused. This is what I'm helping to get pushed through the senate and then congress. Thankfully my state politicians are in agreement with this too.

I hope you get involved and write who ever you need to write demanding that they stop the barbaric practice. Bullfighting sadly is such a popular sport that I doubt it will ever be stopped.

Any little bit helps Dennis. Just keep helping and trying where and when you can. My Facebook page is a mix of politics and animals abuse. I get shares and likes and signatures for the animals abuse so it is getting around. As a matter of fact, I have 3 different ones right now concerning the plight of the dolphins.

What they are doing to these beautiful creatures turns my stomach!!

Grim: This picture shows evidence of the horrific deaths dolphins suffer at the hands of Japanese fishermen. This undercover footage shows a fisherman repeatedly ramming a metal rod into the base of the dolphin's head

I've read all this before, the people who that do these sort of horrific things should be put to death in the same way, Just my opinion!

The pictures aptly shows thier squalid death impose upon them,C/B

They say they are conducting scientific research on dolphins & whales which is a load of BS.I have seen how they lure the dolphins into a trap just to kill them & it's shamefull. There is a lot of effort being made to stop them but so far to no avail.
