Does Honey help in maintaining weightwhile following weight loss regimen?

I heard somewhere that honey helps to maintain the weight. I'm skeptical about it; since honey has sugar and sugar is known to add calories; so more sugar; more calories.

How could it help in reducing weight?

If you replace sugar with it, it can help you to lose weight and possibly maintain the weight loss >> http://www.livestrong.com/article/464012-does-honey-help-in-weight-loss/

Honey, unlike table sugar, is a natural ingredient. It contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids. These all work together to help in fat and cholesterol metabolism, and that helps prevent obesity. Honey has a healthier glycerin index (GI) than sugar.  What that means is that when you eat honey, it doesn't cause a sugar rush, but it is gradually absorbed into your body, thereby providing a stable source of energy.   Therefore, you won’t get a sugar “high” and then a “crash” afterward.
