There is just something about a sport Rolex in gold, isn't there? Mixing the all-around wearability and the iconic Rolex look from the Oyster case to the instantly-recognizable bezel with the link opulence and difficult-to-wear-for-most solid 18k yellow gold is just plain striking. Be it a manually-wound Daytona, a ref. 1680 Submariner, or, link in this case, a GMT-Master from the mid-1980s, a link gold sport Rolex is so uniquely serious and playful, simultaneously.

The result is a watch that I think works link in the vintage context. In fact it almost changed link my perspective of the modern execution. I decided to give my vintage piece link crown guards and imagined that the 2022 refresh was actually a return to tradition in my invented universe. Would I see this watch differently today if this watch really existed Who's to say but being able to manifest this 36mm yellow and green Air-King on a computer screen was satisfying nonetheless.
