Use foaming root killer in the toilet at night before going to bed or in the morning before leaving for work. The root-killing solution needs uninterrupted time to flow from the toilet bowl, out of the tank and into the septic field lines to effectively kill roots. Running more water during this time dilutes the solution and decreases effectiveness.
