I am trying to find a recipe for brown bread that tastes like the ones that were made in the 1950's -60's

Not sure if it's the flour or what but wholemeal flour makes a very pale and insipid tasting loaf these days.  Hope someone out there can help me.

How have you found time to make all that bread this morning lindilou, when you have been so busy on here.

I am also known as the lady who can do 18 things at once...but there's no money in it as I must keep this special gift under wraps...y'know..spy vs spy ...that kinda thing ! haha! ;D xox

Thank you so much lindilou.  The Delia Smith recipe looks like a real winner and I will definitely try it
