A "suggestion" might be construed as "gossip". There is plenty of that to go around when discussing the topic of Catholicism.  Keep in mind however, not all Catholics are evildoers, nor are all priests, nor all popes!  I do not defend the horrible things that have been done to children, and I am NOT Catholic. I just believe that people need to be very careful with accusations in the form of "suggestion".

I have heard the rumour that he suppressed the stories of child abuse.I have also heard that he was a member of the Hitler Youth when he was much younger.makes me wonder how he got to be the Pope.

This new guy seems to be a humble down to Earth type.I'm not a Catholic & I like him already.

There is a program on HBO which recently was aired and it did implicate him as knowing and covering up, as he was the official that the reimporting went to.  This was about an orphanage for deaf boys, and it was released just before he announced retirement, did it have an impact upon that?  Who knows, we never will.  It was also said that because he represented, and protected the church so well, he became Pope???

There are all kinds of suggestions about him. I think I saw someone mention he might be gay. Why not wait to see if there are any actual proven suggestions.That whole religion is a mess with the amount of sexual abuse that has gone on and been covered up. Would anything surprise you at this time?

Ther is ample evidence that he was involved in covering-up priests' pedophilia but not personally involved AFAIK.

If you have taken notice he is spending his retirement in a house/building situated in Vatican State, this next statement i saw on the news, that if he leaves the protection of the State, he will be arrested  allegedly to do with Pedophilia that occurred years ago.

Making speculations based on rumors is as unkind as the rumors themselves. Until there is positive proof of anything, then all else is moot.
