A recently published book  Currawalli Street refers to a 'tall hardwood tree' growing on the outskirts of Melbourne, but I have not been able to find details about it. The name seems to be aboriginal, so maybe one of our Australian members can enlighten.

Never heard of it, Nomdeplume, the Abrorigines have limited names for what things are called in OZ, as it is they had no written language.

There is nothing on the internet about a tree that is called this. It could be simply a fictitious tree created by the author.
