    If 1/4 cm on a map corresponds to an actual distance of 20 km and the distance on the map between Bombay and Calcutta is 37.5 cm, the actual distance between them is?

    It appears that at least one of your measurements is incorrect. If 1/4 cm = 20km, then 1 cm = 80 km. If the distance on the map is 37.5 cm, then 37.5 X 80 = 3,000 km. Its actually 1987 per mapsofindia.com.
